Meet International Business Development Director, Chris Lake
OVER 40 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN THE DRINKS INDUSTRY
Having spent over 40 years in the drinks trade and as the owner and Director of both The Spirits & Whisky Company and Branded Bottles & Glass, it’s safe to say Chris knows a thing or two about alcohol – not only how to drink it, but also how to source it, bottle it, package it and sell it.
Chris’s family all held leading positions at big-name breweries and drinks companies throughout the UK, including Rayments Brewery, Morlands Brewery, Bass Charrington, Hedges & Butler and his own family’s very sucessful company, Greene King – essentially Chris was born with a pint in his hand! 😁 ..and followed in his family’s footsteps. His working life began at the Guinness Brewery on his 24th birthday, followed by eight years at Tanqueray Gordon Gin, a year at Bells Scotch Whisky before moving to their specialist division, Ascot Cellars, and then to Stock Distilleries.
It’s the experience gained throughout his career that has provided Chris with such a deep understanding of the trade, its markets, its people and the key players involved. In 1992, Chris started his own import business, Dedicated Wine Importers. In 2019 the company expanded into export, which is now the dominant aspect of the business. With extensive knowledge and many relationships built over the years, Chris and the team have a rich base of reliable, high quality suppliers and manufacturers for everything related to alcohol – from sourcing the liquid itself right through to branding, bottling and packaging.
